Debaparna Mukherjee is a researcher with a diverse background in psychology, particularly focused on human behavior and cognitive processes in real-world settings. Her research integrates elements of traffic psychology, cognitive science, and human factors, with particular attention to how these fields intersect with driving behavior and the impact of external variables such as emotions, working memory load, and neurodegenerative diseases on driver performance.
Her work is situated within both academic and industry contexts, including her research at IIT Bombay's Traffic Engineering Laboratory, in collaboration with Jaslok Hospital, where she has explored the effects of ageing and neurodegenerative diseases on driving performance. Additionally, her collaborations with Tata Elexi and Panasonic, highlights her ability to apply psychological theories in practical, real-world settings.
Debaparna's academic journey includes significant teaching experience at institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and Kazi Najrul University where she has worked on courses related to industrial/organizational behaviour and cognitive science.
