Dr. Deepratan Singh works in the areas of development, environment, and public policy, with a focus on how ecological stress and economic transitions influence regional development patterns. His work examines resource systems, institutional responses to environmental risk, and the constraints shaping contemporary development processes. His research engages with water systems, regional disparities, and sustainability transitions, exploring how environmental pressures interact with governance structures to affect vulnerability, resilience, and long-term development outcomes. He is particularly interested in linking policy frameworks with subnational realities to better understand how development strategies operate under structural and ecological strain. He has contributed opinion and analysis pieces to national newspapers including The Tribune, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express, and The Telegraph, engaging wider audiences on issues of development and environmental policy.
