Dr. Harleen Gill is an economist and migration scholar whose research spans international economics, migration, remittances, gender, and development, with a strong emphasis on empirical analysis and policy relevance. Her work contributes to academic and public debates by examining how global economic processes and migration intersect with gendered outcomes at the household and societal levels. Building on this research foundation, she adopts a research-informed and interactive teaching approach. She integrates empirical evidence, real-world data, and international policy debates into the classroom to deepen students’ conceptual understanding. By fostering an inclusive and collaborative learning environment, she encourages critical thinking, active engagement, and the application of economic theory to contemporary socio-economic issues. Her work also engages wider public discourse through published writings in The Indian Express, and The Statesman, addressing migration and development issues.
