Jitendra in an applied economist with interest in the fields of labor economics, economics of gender and political economy. His research empirically examines how social identities, namely gender, caste, and religion determine labor market outcomes and economic welfare in India. Jitendra holds a PhD in Economics from Ashoka University, where his dissertation provides some novel evidence on why female labor force participation in is low and further declining in India. His research work has been featured in various media platforms and newspapers including Business Standard, Times of India, Indian Express, Scroll.in, Outlook magazine, etc. Before PhD, he obtained an MA in Development Economics from South Asian University, New Delhi, and a B.Tech. in Mining Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad.
