Dr. Shakir ul Hassan is an Assistant Professor at the Thapar School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He brings over 8 years of teaching experience from various universities and institutes. His research interests are focused on early Modern Perso-Sanskrit archive especially chronicles and biographies from the region of Kashmir. He specializes in the textual analysis of the narratives of conquests and catastrophe in the early modern South Asia. He has contributed to many journals, published book-chapters and presented in several conferences. He teaches major courses on Colonial Modernity in South Asia and local responses to it.
