Jay Prakash Singh is an Assistant Professor at the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Before joining TSLAS, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of HSS, IIT Bombay. He earned his MSc and Ph.D. in Cognitive Science degree at the Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences, University of Allahabad. In his doctoral thesis program, he explored underlying mechanisms (proactive inhibitory control and anticipation) involved in cognitive control advantage due to practicing two languages. During his postdoc, he studied the interaction between emotion and response inhibition. He uses behavioural methodology to understand cognitive processes. His area of research interest includes Bilingualism, Cognitive Control, and Literacy and Cognition.
